Please help! I have carpet beetles in my room and my parents won’t get pest control?!?
My parents have seen some of the bugs, but they don’t take me too seriously. They force me to sleep in the bed even though sometimes they have crawled on me while I slept, one morning I woke up to seeing them on my skin, eew! My parents didn’t believe me but they later found out. I moved into the spare room for some time but now my auntie is coming to stay round for 2 MONTHS! I am being forced to sleep in my room and I am sure they are still there! I also saw all this white stuff on my silk duvet and I wonder if they are larvae? My parents also won’t call pest control, I basically can’t do anything! I have always been afraid of and hated bugs but I am being forced to sleep in my bedroom full of them. Helppp me please

The vacuum is a good weapon. The carpet beetles come in from out side after eating pollen on the flowers. They lay eggs in the carpet or stuffed animals or other things in your room. The larvae are fuzzy and they eat the carpet and what ever they are on. They like to gather a lot around the baseboards. So, vacuuming real good around the baseboards will get a lot of them. Vacuuming a lot will pick up the bugs and the larvae. The larvae and shell looking things might be under your bed. If they are in the closet, cleaning in there will get rid of them. You might have to spray around the baseboards.

Vacuuming will help but be sure to empty the vacuum cleaner bag when you are through. Also dry all organic cloth on high heat to kill the eggs and larvae. Silk can’t be put in the dryer so you’ll have to seal your duvet in an airtight plastic bag and leave it until your parents come to their senses.
