What Is The Easiest Way To Get Rid Of Roaches And Keep Them Gone?

I live in an apartment complex in Hawaii that has a bad roach problem. THey spray weekly to get rid but it still seem that there has to be a way to get them to stay away from my apartment….kinda grosses me out!

clean up and keep the place clean
the roaches keep coming back as there is plenty of food for them
so its simple to leave no food then they will go!
I lived in an apartment complex and I always put out roach bait traps never saw any . I used them in every cabinet and closet wherever I could stick them I put them.
The easiest way would be to move
If a pest control company can’t control them, fumigate each room. It’s being proactive, but seriously, a good pest control company should be able to handle it.
hire a homeless person to hang around the house and step on them.
i can’t help ya dude
chances are one of your neighbours is a slob and that’s why the roaches are there.
Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing
cockroaches and most other insects.
You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at
boric acid powder. Usually comes in a bottle with a narrow tip so you can get it into crevices. It’s non toxic and keeps the little buggers well under control..especially if you live in an area where you can’t escape them because of where you live. It gets on them when they walk through it..theylick it off and it kills them because it causes their digestion to stop. I had the same problem with a place i lived in and i put it everywhere i could where the roaches might be and after about a week or so..i didn’t hardly ever see another one again.
I have also heard they don’t like the smell of citronella..so if you could maybe find some really good almost pure oil of that..you might also help to keep them out of your place at least.
I know I had this same problem I finally tried Combat gold roach baits and the gel it took two applications but finally no roaches I dont know if they have it in hawaii but it is worth researching good luck
If you got them, your neighbors got them. I don’t know if they sell this product in Hawaii, but it works. Combat roach bait, I think it is a Raid product. They are little plastic things with poison bait in them. You could “bomb” your house first, and follow the directions as to airing it out afterwards, cleaning etc. If you have carpet, after you bomb, vaccum thoroughly. Put the bait things all over your house, in drawers, etc, and especially where there is a water source, roaches love water! It won’t be an over night remedy, but in about 10 days you should see a difference. You might want to see if your neighbor will bomb their place the same time you do yours. A reddish roach is a german cockroach and can fit anywhere a piece of paper can. They also carry at least 22 known diseases. Not to freak you out, but I hate them just as bad as you do, and when we ran this apt. complex, I did a little research, and found that. We lived in Florida years ago, and had the same problem, and the Combat did the trick. If you have a wal-mart in Hawaii, they sell them. hope that helps you too.
When we lived in military housing, we had a horrible infestation. My mother mixed boric acid with cocoa powder and used duct tape on the base boards. I would also bomb and have combat roach baits in your place. I would also check with your local housing authority and see if there is anything that they can help with. Since your building is being sprayed weekly, it may be time to talk with your land lord to see if they can spray more often (or cover all the building at once). it sounds like they may be moving from area to area to avoid the spray.
I lived in an apartment for years so I know what your’e going through. We tried everything but what finally worked was a chinese chalk sold in singles from the dollar store! You just mark it where the real trouble spots are and at your door entrance. It really works!!!! also using the original pinesol floor cleaner seems to keep them away for some reason!!
Simple– just use Clorox Pen sample! It will also help make your house a lot cleaner. Or, you may visit this site for the product info and cleaning tips.
