@earthling1984 OMFG you were right! IT’s only been3 days and they’re outa control again! lol, i fed them all to my fish and my fish are very full, i don’t have one fruit fly anymore (yes!) butttt, they’re are many larva and cacoon like thingys in there too (a lot of larva and like 30 cacoons) so in no time i’ll be outa control again, I guess i wont EVER have to worry about not having fruit flys again, EVER! LOL I thought bunnnies bred a lot, they don’t even compare to fruit flies lol

@ciciironwill27 Check out the ‘coffee cup’ I have in this vid. I only put about 25 flies in there, and after a week, there are thousands of larva. So yeah, don’t worry, they can breed like crazy :)

@ciciironwill27 yes, 35 will continue to reproduce and make more and more. In a couple weeks you should have hundreds again.

I had like 70 in a container with a lot of larva in there and they all got out!!!!!!! the container has like 15 left only. . . i feed my tropical fish thees guys like 10 a week. . . while i was feedeing them this week they left. . . and i was wondering if the 15 i have left and the maggots (like 20) could reproduce. I have the media. and how long will it take? am i doomed to have to buy more? or will the 15 flys and 20 arva do the work fine? What would u say?

Yea, if they all got loose that would suck. But rememer, these are FLIGHTLESS fruit flies, they cannot fly. So to keep them in the container you just tap it on the table, and they all fall to the bottom of the container! If you get some/breed some, make sure to get the flightless kind(yes they still have wings, but they can’t fly)

You make that look so easy. I’ve allways wanted some small lizards or frogs, but didnt buy, cause I thought breeding those darn fly’s would be hard. I couldnt figure out how to open the flytank, without all of them buzzing out to my house. Grose. But that coffee cup system seems cool.
And if you want to see inside, I think it would be easy to cut a peace of the wall of, and replace it with a plastic or something.

:) thanks. My Rankins will have plenty of food that’s for sure :) Too bad I don’t have more small lizards, but it will be really nice when I do start breeding the leopard geckos and rankins :)
