A House Centipede Escaped Before I Could Kill It, What Should I Do?
Byokay
i was in my room (basement), hammering a hook into the wall to hang a mirror and a huge bug came from inside the wall.
since the bug was barricading my inside my bedroom, i couldn’t get the bug spray i began spraying the bug with perfume, hoping to stun it.
well…that didn’t work. i didn’t realize that the 500 legs would make it move faster than i can. the bug took off and i lost sight of it. i’m terrified to go back in there because the color of the bug blends in with the carpet and wall.
so i came upstairs and googled basement bugs and found out that what was in my room was a house centipede and they bite.
what should i do?
how long will it take to get this disgusting creature out of my room?

It’s possible the perfume killed that bug.
I spray bugs with Window cleaning spray (the blue stuff) and it kills them. Sometimes they fly away afterward, but I’ll find them dead the next day.

What should you do?
You should be glad you didn’t kill it.

Well, shoot, I guess my links didn’t make it onto the page.
When next you’re on Facebook, just look for the Facebook group titled:

Go to the store and buy you a can of bug spray that specifies centipedes. They can inflict a seriously bad bite. Hope you can locate it. You can use the vacuum cleaner to suck it out of nooks and crannies, using th nozzle end. Good luck.

Don’t bother it, it won’t bother you. It’s just a lil’ bug, sheesh!
Though now that it smells all nice, it will get lots of dates & make thousands of baby bugs.
Lucky bug!
