Defleaing Your Dog?

By paco

I haven’t tried this yet but was told you could buy advanced 12 month tree and shrub insect control concentrate. Its a liquid, you put this down the back to the tail of your dog, and its great for fleas. I just wondered if it would harm the animal. It has the active ingredient Imidacloprid 1.47%, the same chemical the vet sales trade name advantage, but its more dilute then it but way cheaper. This guy swears by it and hasen’t had fleas in over a year. I can give you his website. He has hunting dogs. I just don’t want to harm mine.

i wouldnt use it. there are too many factors that could go wrong. there is a reason that the manufacturers have it already diluted. its because if it isnt properly diluted then it can be very toxic to your dog. he can use it all he wants but i wouldnt put it on my dog. also dont bother going and getting the flea drops from walmart as they are a waste of your time and money. you’re better off just putting that money towards drops from your vet that are going to actually work. i like frontline personally but advantage is a good product as well and just as effective. good luck

Just get some Frontline and be done with it. The product works great!

Why not just get proper flea and tick treatment that won’t kill your dog if you guess wrong ?

Noooo don’t do it. There are too many factors that can cause you to end up killing your dog. Go to Walmart and buy a pack of theflea drops. You put them on once a month, three tubes on a card and it’s like six bucks. I know you don’t want to risk your dog’s life and health over 50 cents.

I would not use it.

Instead of that stuff use tea tree oil. Look it up online and read about it. It is safe on dogs and just about anything and works to get rid of fleas. Check it out.
