Killing a squirrel humanely is dependent on the wildlife rules in a given area, but they are usually caught in a live trap and put to sleep. Look to the local department of agriculture for rules on how to humanely deal with squirrels with help from a certified pest control operator in this free video on pest control.

Once squirrels learn a damaging behavior, they will repeat it unless they are removed from the population or relocated deep into a wooded area.
My solution is with a BB gun or one of my .22′s using powderless charges (only the primer).
because they will come back and continue to do damage to the property
