bats emerging by San Pedro River

Down at the Casa de San Pedro in Hereford, AZ they have a wonderful wildlife habitat that their guests can enjoy when they stay at the Bed and Breakfast. They erected this bat house about 5 years ago, and after the first year they only had about 5 bats, then year 2 & 3 about 10. The last two years the population in this bat house exploded to what we believe is now over 1000 bats just in this one house!

need help with a bat house. bats in the neighborhood and want to have them close.
Posted by: | CommentsI have read that the house needs to be on a post 15 feet up but I have never seen any like that anywhere. Is it really necessary. Also, bat scent? to attract them to the house? And, how close can I get to the house to see them?
