]]> I just got it today and it seems to only eat meal worms. It’s still a child and it’s an African pygmy hedgehog. I tried feeding it bananas, strawberry’s, apple and it won’t eat it, but I was told that it would eat these things. If you have a hedgehog please give me some advice.

]]> I know it should be in at least 8 hrs of direct sunlight as they like warm nesting areas..but not sure how high on the home I should place it. I also heard they are good to cut down on insect population and we live near a pond with LOTS of mosquitos which they love. We frequently get bats in the summertime and love to come out at night and fly around. I hope I’m doing some good by investing in one :-)
Also I bought this from Lakeside Collection and looks to be made of pine or something–it has a greenish residue and am wondering if it is waterproofing? I’m not sure if I should paint the bathouse to secure it more or leave it naked as is. The top of it has a metal roof.

Over the years we’ve received many questions about the product and have a brief overview posted on BedBug Central here: www.bedbugcentral.com Through research at Rutgers University we have found that it is one of the few all-natural, EPA exempt products that is highly effective against bed bugs and their eggs on contact. That being said, our concerns about the product are the strong odor associated with the application. When the product is used inside homes, the odor can become overwhelming to some (although the company claims there are no negative health effects from this odor). Also, the product is very oily and can leave a oily-residue behind where it is applied. This oily residue is enough of a concern that some have chosen not to apply it in their homes because of it. My grandma runs an animal shelter, and every summer fleas get everywhere. Keep in mind, this is about 90 – 100 cats and multiple dogs, not “a few” –> so regular solutions won’t really do it. Eucalyptus is harmful to cats, and there’s not enough time in the day to borax or diatomaceous everything, everyday. Anything that can be done would help, thanks!

]]> With so many options for lawn care at my local hardware store I need some advice on choosing the best.

I’ve already used ORTHO 32 Oz. Ready-to-Spray Bug-B-Gon MAX Lawn and Garden Insect Killer about a week ago and that seemed to help but the dog is picking them up in the yard again. We’ve been working on the inside with bombs and sprays and we have a furniture/carpet cleaning company coming tomorrow, so I just really need to get them out of our yard now.

Our yard has a deck off the back of the house with sand underneath and the rest is grass.

Just wondering what is the best to get rid of these little buggers, Beneficial Nematode’s, more lawn sprays, or powders such as Diatomaceous Earth?

Is there some that work better for sand? and some better for grass?

I purchased Cutter 32 oz. Backyard Bug Control Spray Concentrate for the next application to lawn, is this a good choice?
*Also wanted to note our dog has Frontline Plus applied to him.

*And the product has to be safe for children who will be playing in the yard.
