Is it possible for a mouse to live inside a closed old style desk without needing water?
Posted by: | CommentsFor years I have heard a sort of soft jumping sound ( da dum) as if the mouse were going from one level to another in the desk I use. It is especially noticeable during nighttime. In the past, over many years, I once found a tiny mouse in a shoe box and one time a saw a cute little creature beetle across the floor to my balcony which is about three meters above a small garden. This makes me think that it has taken up housekeeping in my desk. So I’m wondering what it does for water.
How bad is it to live in this environment?
Posted by: | CommentsI am 20 years old and I my room in my parent’s house is in the basement. The basement is considered finished and when I moved in there was wood paneled walls and nice carpeting. Since then there was been three floods in my “room” however so the carpeting has been pulled up and now there are only cement/stone blocks on the floor. After pulling up the carpet we also realized that the “walls” that seperate my room from the rest of the “unfinished” basement are actually about an inch and a half off the floor (this was concealed by carpet). We sucked up the water and had a dehumidifier going at the time of the flood and I thought the problem was fixed and as I spent a great deal away at school was never really “in” my room.
When I came back home though I found that some of my clothes left in wooden drawers near the floor had grown mold! I just got rid of the clothes and didn’t think anything of it. I also notice that I see bugs and spiders in my room not very often but often enough where it isn’t unusual. I was also willing to live with this and shrug it off but today I saw a mouse running across my floor!
We never ripped out the walls when my room was flooded and I’m worried that there might be mold growing in the insulation. The room itself is almost always damp with a slightly unusual smell.
I live at home full time now and I was wondering if anyone thought this might be a dangerous environment to live in??? I know mold can cause very bad respiratory problems! I’m also seeing an increase of black beetle looking bugs since a few days ago when we had a really bad storm!

I rather take that money and put it toward an apartment and maybe a car. I don’t see why it’s necessary to buy a $1000 dress and expensive decorations that nobody looks at and all that…I thought about having a cool wedding but to me it’s just a waste of money. And it BUGS me when people have these extravagant ones and then live with their parents afterwards. I mean, REALLY???
My wedding is just gonna be my husband and I going to Popeye’s. If I even get married, a piece of paper isn’t going to make me love someone more.
Thinking about moving my family to Florida .. how is it to live in?
Posted by: | CommentsWe live up in Mass and hate the weather. We have been to FL many times on vacation but have seriously been thinking of moving there. Possibly to Boca Raton area? Or Coral Springs? Is it nice to live there year round? Are the schools good? My husband does commercial moving .. is there any of that in Florida? Just would love to hear from people who live in Florida how they like it? I hear the bugs are BAD and the humidity is bad in summer but I can’t take these long winters anymore. We are thinking of a gated community area. Please .. I’d love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions.
