Im in the UK so we don’t have any poisonous domestic spiders of our own but I won’t say the thing didnt drive me to laugh nervously, and im not keen on something like that crawling on my face when im asleep…

I don’t kill bugs as a rule so I just trapped it and put it outside but I didnt think to take it more than a meter away from my front door…is this thing likely to have looked for a way back in as soon as I put him out?
yeh…and thats coming from someone who calls themselves the Demon Ozzy…lol.

]]> When house-hunting, I heard that if a house has no spider webs in the basement or no signs of bug life, it can be a sign that the house has radon, as the spiders cannot survive because of the presence of radon. Is there any truth to this? We usually have some spiders in the house, especially during the winter, but we haven’t seen any spiders or bugs in the house all season. It doesn’t seem like there are any new webs in the basement. I know the simple answer would be to just get a radon detector… well, we have one, but getting my dad to actually find where he put it and then get it running is a huge matter in this crazy family! So, has anyone heard this about bugs and radon?

]]> I live in northwest indiana in the country, because of that we always have a lot of spiders, crickets, and other insects inside the house. I hate crickets because they keep me up at night, but i am always kind to spiders, they are quiet, and help control the nuisance insects in the house, and the black widow(which is rare) i believe is the only spider in my area i have to be afraid of.
My grandparents, who own the house, of course hate the spiders along with everything because of the webs the often leave behind.
anyways, enough backstory, i’m sure that was extremely interesting(rolls eyes).
Now that it’s getting colder out the spiders seem to be scurrying about the house, it’s somewhat comical, since i am new to this area it’s not something i’ve experienced before. It seems like it’s mostly the wolf spiders, but i have seen other species as well. Do they become more active because they are looking for a mate before they die in the winter? or are they looking for a place to hide themselves through winter? why are they moving around so much more now? when it was warm they seemed to stay in particular locations around the house, i know because i would kind of check on them.
i don’t think there is a spider section so i will try and put this in the best place.

I found a prewar first floor apartment (fixer upper) That I am considering but upon my second visit, I noticed (American) Roach, (PALMETTO BUG) upside down in the basement squiggling around (assuming it is dying). Any how, I am freaking out as the apartment hs alot of potential, in a prewar building that is financially stable btu what is up wiht the Roach.
