Question by imyurlilxfantasi: There was a tiny black bug stuck on my leg this morning?
Ok, so ironically, I have been horrified by all this “Bed Bug” news lately and did some reading on it yesterday and looked at a bunch of pictures thinking if I was more educated about them I wouldnt have any problems. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Anyway, that really has nothing to do with my question. I woke up this morning and I was folding laundry and I had an itch on the back of my leg, behind my knee in that crease. I scratched it and it got worse so I looked at the mirror behind me and saw a TINY black spot, so i scratched at it and it didnt move and I got a little nervous. I really thought it was just a bee stinger stuck in my leg so I pinched at it to pull it out.. and when I did, it came out and I thought all was good, then I looked at what I pulled out and it was a little tiny red/black bug. My dog was just treated for ticks, but taking care of him I saw quite a few ticks and it did resemble a tick, but it was a whole lot smaller than any I saw on my dog. And I had just looked at bed bug pictures and it really did not look like any of those pictures I saw. But now on the spot on my leg, its very swollen and itchy. I don’t know if there are any dangers here? What else it could have been on my leg? What I need to do now? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Best answer:

Answer by Zoe
I really think its a tick, before they start sucking blood they are like tiny little black spider type things, so you probably used to seeing them when there weird back pouch thing is fuller. So if it was really small with black legs and a tiny little red back thingy, then it was most likely a tick, but dont worry it stops ichting soon and the little raised bump with go down, just make sure it didnt leave any legs or stuff behind.

Question by : Are There Roly-Polies in Russia?
You might know them as “pillbugs”, “roly-polies”, “potato bugs” or incorrectly “woodlice” (woodlice are related to them, but don’t curl up into balls when threatened.)
They’re the little black to grey (but sometimes brown or speckled) bugs with seven sets of legs. (They’re actually terrestrial crustaceans, not insects, btw, but for the sake of familiarity, I’ll call them bugs, as everyone I’ve ever met seems to incorrectly think they are bugs.)
I live in Florida, but I’ve lived all over the continental USA, and if you flip over a rock or a log, these little things are everywhere!! They’ve been my favorite animal since I was big enough to control my own strength and keep from squishing them. I breed them and study their behavior as a hobby. (Weird, I know…)
Well, I’m planning a trip to Novosibirsk, Russia, soon, to visit my fiance. I’m curious about whether or not rolypolies can be found in Russia or not? I asked Dima and he says he doesn’t know. (He doesn’t like bugs, so it’s not like he’s ever stuck around them long enough to even know what a rolypoly is…)

So, long story short — Are there Rolypolies in Russia?
Michael, how in the Hell do you come up with that? I said no such thing about leaving my dear based on whether or not rolypolies exist in Russia. You must be the one off your rocker, you ignorant troll.

Val, that looks to be very similar to what I’m talking about, it could be more on the woodlouse species, though. They are very similar, so I do think it is very possible what I am looking for could be in Russia I’ll have to check out the page a bit more in-depth, my Russian isn’t the greatest, I do need the practice lol. Thank you

Best answer:

Answer by Michael Lastname
are you kidding me? what if i told you there were no rollie pollies in russia? would you cancel your trip and cut all ties with your fiance for being in a country that doesnt have rollie pollies? you sound like you could be off the rocker.

yes there are rolly-pollies in russia.
