I’ve lived in the Florida area since 1994. When I first came down here I struggled with the whole roach thing. I blew tons of money on all kinds of crap. I’m more of a DIY kind of girl so I didn’t want to call the bug guy. What I eventually found that works miracles is the Combat Gel. Buy two tubes of it, follow the directions exactly and wait for all the dead roaches. Once I found it I had planned on treating my house once a year but I’ve only had to treat twice in the last 12 years. You’ll also want to put boric acid or some other pesticide around the outside of your house to prevent them from coming in. Combine these two and you can take care of the roach problem within an hour and it’s way cheaper than calling the bug guy.

Final Answer: Burn the house down. If they’re small and numerous they’re the German cockroch. If they’re large and fewer in numbers, say an inch or more in length, they’re what we call in Georgia, wood roaches. I’ve also heard the term water roaches.
Remove their food supply, that is, clean up, don’t leave any garbage around that they can feed off of. Also, they like warm places like the works of TVs, fridges and various electronics, stray those areas.
Spray the woodwork between the wall and the floor. However, roach sprays will damage some finishes on furniture and will cause the tops of curtains to get sooty and dirty.
Bengal is a brand name in the U.S. It’s expensive but it doesn’t take much. That’s great. There’s also roach bait traps that are quite good. I’m not talking about the roach traps that are sticky but have a poison inside. That will reduce the numbers and get rid of them.
I once lived in a trailer and went on vacation. It got really, really hot in there. That worked too.

German cockkroaches are basically a thing of the past. Call in a professional pest control company. Use a small local outfit. A small pest control company is usually run by an owner and family. (Their reputation is at stake).
Oops…just reread your post….I doubt their German cockroaches….probably the large Americana cockroach…
still…contact a professional.

I had the same problem I found a company name MrBugGuy.com.
his work is amazing. For his german roach treatment its $75.00 every three months
.
While he was at my home he inspected for termites. Thank God I did not have any. If I did his termite prices 395 ANY SIZE HOUSE!
We were very happy with his work. Our bugs are gone..

German roaches are hard to get rid of, but you MUST call a good exterminator to do so. They have to treat the house, then come back once per month for a short period. It’s the only way. You cannot buy the right stuff at Walmart.
