They wont harm your kids but they are gross…I recommend using Raid bates they work really well. Make sure there isn’t any running water or food out for them. Sweep often because they love hair & dead skin…

You might need an exterminator. If its infested. Or take a small trip and get the house bombed.

These are THE WORST! They will live in electronic equipment (alarm clocks, radios, dvd players, wall outlets, etc) or anywhere in your house! Make sure you kill every last one, go through purses, backpacks, pockets, under beds, cabinets and kill them all. I even had them move to my car from my house and had to bomb my car (not recommended..hehe). Make sure there is no food (even tiny crumbs) or pet food left out. Then, bomb your house as often as needed until you don’t see one. Re-bomb if you happen to see another live one. I know it’s a pain to do, but there is no other way to get rid of them. Also, they may just move over to your neighbor’s house and come right back so make sure you tell them to watch out. Hope this helps! Good luck!!

Go to a pest control place and buy a tube of ‘Max Force’. It can be put behind the stove and refridgerator, up along the ceiling, along the counter, inside cupboard doors, and about eye level along the walls(eye level for you). Also buy some ‘Raid’ roach killer and spray it in your kitchen cabinet. Remove the dishes first or you’ll have to wash them again. Roaches can be drowned in the tub, flushed down the toilet, ran down the disposal, and stepped on. If you are renting, contact your landlord. They are supposed to make sure your place is insect free before you rent it.
Good Luck

Don’t be discouraged. Boric acid usually takes at least 3-4 weeks to work. In the meantime buy 3 or 4 cans of Bengal Ant & Roach Spray. Don’t skimp on the cheap brands.
I don’t mean to offend you, but the first thing you should do is clean house thoroughly. You’d be surprised how many “clean” houses have roaches. Roaches will consume, and can live off of glue from envelopes, paper bags, etc. So if you have a stash of paper bags somewhere in your cabinets, be prepared with a can of Bengal spray when you pull out that stack of bags. Start by cleaning out your kitchen cabinets completely, keeping a can of spray handy. You may want to spray into each cabinet, close it up, go outside for 15 minutes, then come back inside and get ready to vacuum. Yes, vacuum the dead and dying ones. Do not sweep them. Be sure to take your vacuum bag out of doors or put in outdoor trash at the street. You may need to repeat the procedure in 2 or 3 weeks until the boric acid kicks in.
I had a severe roach problem once. I have learned the hard way to avoid having some of the following items in my kitchen: A knife block – roaches love to hide in the bottoms of the little slots. Loose wallpaper – remember, roaches love glue. Utensil holders – like those for wooden spoons, etc. unless you can find one that’s roach proof. Mine is made of stainless steel wire with a mesh bottom that lets any droplets of water drain out and allows light thru. Loose molding at ceilings, corners, and floors – these little cracks make excellent hiding places for roaches and they love them.
Once you get your roach problem under control with the spray, then count on your boric acid to work. The Combat Roach Bait Trays also work well for maintenance. I purchased a new home in November 2005, put out Combat trays, replace them every 3-6 months, and I haven’t seen a roach in nearly two years.
Good luck.

Moth balls can help, be sure to place them safely away from little kids. They do not like the smell that comes from the balls. Good Luck!!!
